The Order of The Spirit Catcher Awards Gala
The 4th Annual Spirit Catcher Awards Gala is November 15th at the South Shore Centre in Barrie. The Mayor of Barrie will be giving The Order of the Spirit Catcher, the highest honour the City gives to a volunteer for outstanding service to our community. The Gala features live music, an indigenous people's performance, dinner and, of course, the awards ceremony. Radio for Cardiology Benefit Concert VIII: Dean Brody with James Barker Band
KICX 106 is proud to present Radio for Cardiology Benefit Concert VIII, featuring Canadian country star Dean Brody with James Barker Band on Friday May 5, 2017 at the Casino Rama Entertainment Centre.
“We’re very excited to bring to Simcoe County our eighth Radio for Cardiology Benefit Concert,” says Paul Larche, President of Larche Communications Inc. (LCI) and owner of KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK. “Again, here’s an opportunity to enjoy incredible country music performers and help raise money for much needed advanced cardiac care in our region at the same time. It’s a true win-win”.
KICX 106 and 104.1 The DOCK have pledged $500,000 to support the purchase of a cardiac catheterization lab to be installed at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH). Currently, the closest care is in Newmarket, which is outside the 90-minute gold standard for treatment for many Simcoe/Muskoka residents
“We could not do this without the generosity of Casino Rama” says Larche. “Again, they are donating their entire facility and Entertainment Centre amenities at no charge.”
In the midst of an exhilarating album launch, Dean Brody brings his brand new album, Beautiful Freakshow, coast to coast through local media appearances, and country radio listener events, culminating in a special live performance in Toronto, to kick-off the announcement of national tour dates, beginning April 2017.
Tickets officially go on sale November 4, 2016, with Fan Club pre-sale November 2 and KICX 106 and Casino Rama pre-sale November 3. VIP tickets will include front row seats plus a Meet & Greet with Dean before the show. Fun loving, Top 5 Canadian country radio act, James Barker Band will be opening the action-packed show across Canada. The past year saw Brody take home a JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year, along with 4 CCMA Awards for the top selling digital Canadian country single of all-time, “Bring Down the House”. Beautiful Freakshow is Brody’s sixth album, and it’s one that takes risks and delves outside of the comfort zone of traditional country, with songs such as the progressive title track, featuring a rap vocal from Halifax native Shevy Price, and the mellow reggae vibe invoked from “Beautiful Girl”. And yet, the record manages to simultaneously stay true to what many fans have come to love and expect from Brody, with traditional tracks destined to be classics, such as, “Time”, “8 th Day” and “Blueberry Sky”, which features iconic country legend, Vince Gill on the guitar.
ABOUT RADIO FOR CARDIOLOGY
In their latest and third $500,000 pledge, known as Radio for Cardiology, KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK, will help equip a cardiac catheterization lab as part of a future advanced cardiac care program at RVH.
North Simcoe Muskoka is the only region in the province without advanced cardiac services. As a result, every year more than 3,500 heart patients must travel to centres outside the region for lifesaving cardiac care. The development of an advanced cardiac care program will have a significant impact on bringing cardiac care close to home for residents. The services RVH will provide include cardiac diagnostics and interventions such as coronary angiogram and angioplasty, giving patients access to faster treatment, a shorter hospital stay and less travel time.
Since 2009, KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK have raised over $1.2 million dollars in support of RVH’s expanded Imaging department, the purchase of a CT Simulator for radiation treatment at the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre at RVH, and now for advance cardiac are.

Feeding Families Auction & Food Drive
In support of the Salvation Army we are launching our Feeding Families Auction & Food Drive.
Starting Thursday December 1st from 6am to 6pm Jack & Carey will be broadcasting live as we auction off various items to raise money for those less fortunate this holiday season.
If you or your business would like to donate an item or service to the auction, please send an email to rwatts@larche.com with a description, value and picture if possible.
Your business can also sponsor an hour of the auction for a $100 donation (You will receive name mentions, and a sponsored Facebook Live video during that hour.)
The Food Drive will take place on Wednesday December 14th and Thursday December 15th as we travel all over KICX Country in the Herbert's Boots and Western Wear KICX Bus powered by Hammond Transportation. All food and money donations collected will be donated directly back into the community it was collected in.

The partnership came about after Wilson heard “I Didn’t Fall in Love With Your Hair”—a song on Kissel’s newest album, which he debuted last week at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards to a standing ovation. The stunningly emotional song, which tells the story of enduring love through a battle with cancer, struck a deep chord with Wilson.
Until October 28th, proceeds from downloads of “I Didn’t Fall in Love With Your Hair” will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. During this time, Wilson will match the money raised through song sales up to $25,000.

Block B (9am – 11am) – KICX 106 Feeding Families Auction
Every Christmas KICX 106 helps the less fortunate in our area have a brighter Christmas. This year, we are launching Feeding Families, an initiate that will help our community not only during the Christmas holidays, but throughout the year.
The KICX 106 Salvation Army Auction will be under the Feeding Families umbrella as all of the proceeds will be split between the Salvation Army locations in Midland, Orillia & Barrie.
The much anticipated annual radio auction will take place Thursday, December 8th from 6:00am-6:00pm. This is a day long auction that is advertised on-air and on our website. Listeners can call our auction phone line the day of the auction and bid on auction items. The highest bidder of each auction block item will be called after 5pm the day of the auction.

“We’re very excited to bring to Simcoe County our eighth Radio for Cardiology Benefit Concert,” says Paul Larche, President of Larche Communications Inc. (LCI) and owner of KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK. “Again, here’s an opportunity to enjoy incredible country music performers and help raise money for much needed advanced cardiac care in our region at the same time. It’s a true win-win”.
KICX 106 and 104.1 The DOCK have pledged $500,000 to support the purchase of a cardiac catheterization lab to be installed at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH). Currently, the closest care is in Newmarket, which is outside the 90-minute gold standard for treatment for many Simcoe/Muskoka residents
“We could not do this without the generosity of Casino Rama” says Larche. “Again, they are donating their entire facility and Entertainment Centre amenities at no charge.”
In the midst of an exhilarating album launch, Dean Brody brings his brand new album, Beautiful Freakshow, coast to coast through local media appearances, and country radio listener events, culminating in a special live performance in Toronto, to kick-off the announcement of national tour dates, beginning April 2017.
VIP tickets will include front row seats plus a Meet & Greet with Dean before the show. Fun loving, Top 5 Canadian country radio act, James Barker Band will be opening the action-packed show across Canada. The past year saw Brody take home a JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year, along with 4 CCMA Awards for the top selling digital Canadian country single of all-time, “Bring Down the House”. Beautiful Freakshow is Brody’s sixth album, and it’s one that takes risks and delves outside of the comfort zone of traditional country, with songs such as the progressive title track, featuring a rap vocal from Halifax native Shevy Price, and the mellow reggae vibe invoked from “Beautiful Girl”. And yet, the record manages to simultaneously stay true to what many fans have come to love and expect from Brody, with traditional tracks destined to be classics, such as, “Time”, “8 th Day” and “Blueberry Sky”, which features iconic country legend, Vince Gill on the guitar.
ABOUT RADIO FOR CARDIOLOGY
In their latest and third $500,000 pledge, known as Radio for Cardiology, KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK, will help equip a cardiac catheterization lab as part of a future advanced cardiac care program at RVH.
North Simcoe Muskoka is the only region in the province without advanced cardiac services. As a result, every year more than 3,500 heart patients must travel to centres outside the region for lifesaving cardiac care. The development of an advanced cardiac care program will have a significant impact on bringing cardiac care close to home for residents. The services RVH will provide include cardiac diagnostics and interventions such as coronary angiogram and angioplasty, giving patients access to faster treatment, a shorter hospital stay and less travel time.
Since 2009, KICX 106 & 104.1 The DOCK have raised over $1.2 million dollars in support of RVH’s expanded Imaging department, the purchase of a CT Simulator for radiation treatment at the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre at RVH, and now for advance cardiac are.
